Pelissero Vanotu Barbaresco DOCG

The "Vanotu" is the flagship Barbaresco from Giorgio Pelissero, a benchmark producer in Treiso, in the heart of the Langhe. The name is an affectionate tribute to his grandfather Giovanni, known as "Vanotu" in the Piedmontese dialect. Produced with Nebbiolo grapes from the Vanotu vineyard in the municipality of Treiso, on soils of calcareous marl and Tortonian clay, this Barbaresco is aged in large oak barrels for over 24 months, followed by a long rest in the bottle. The 2017 vintage, warm and early in the Langhe, yielded a Barbaresco of great concentration and maturity: on the nose, it opens with notes of rose, ripe cherry, tobacco, sweet spices, and a touch of dark chocolate; on the palate, it is full and enveloping, with elegant tannins and a freshness that guarantees its longevity. A Barbaresco with character, ready to drink but with still much to offer.
